Life Skills for Kids offers ongoing workshops, daytime and evening, presented by Kim Davis.

Workshop and venues vary depending on the size of the group. They are run at different locations, conveniently tailor made for your needs.

Examples of workshop groups include:

  • parent groups
  • parent and children sessions,
  • school and teacher groups.
  • mother groups

Examples of workshop themes include:

STRENGTH: ‘like a tree withstanding different forces of nature, stand tall’

  • Assertiveness techniques, such as the stuck CD, the three C’S - Confident, Caring & Clear.
  • Universal symbols of power and strength that successful people use
  • Recognizing the three P’S –Pressure, Pleasing, being Pushed
  • Bullies can actually teach us positive qualities
  • Body language and facial expressions
  • Sometimes it is scary to stand up for yourself

CONFIDENCE: ‘confidence is like the rocket fuel of life’

  • Confidence comes from knowing what you really want and being strong about your idea
  • Understanding the reason behind why you do what you do - asking ‘for what purpose?’
  • The three C’S: speak your truth caringly, confidently and in a clear way
  • Be still and know their anger is just like a barking dog
  • Standing up against the 3 P’S – pressure, having to please, being pushed

BEING CERTAIN AND ASSERTIVENESS: ‘aren’t they the same??? I’m not sure…’

  • Deciding between two things
  • Asking questions to know what is going on
  • Making a decision or am I just going along
  • Using love, power & strength to communicate the truth
  • So how do I know if I am happy?

OBVIOUS AND NOT SO OBVIOUS BULLIES: ‘sometimes the bully experience can be a tricky one’

  • Do a ‘take two’ because the angry person won’t change – so you do it
  • When you feel feelings ask questions about them (to yourself and maybe others too)
  • Revise different strategies in speaking up to strong minded people
  • Checking ‘for what purpose’ this is happening
  • Bullies can teach confidence

  • Boundaries and behaviours that are kind and loving
